Almost all of my friends will be ready along with the rest of the nation, to celebrate Christmas on Sunday, and although I haven’t managed to get all of my presents in just yet, Im more or less there.
I have been in the Christmas spirit since the end of September, forcing my child to watch “Elf” and “Home alone” more times than I care to say and I think I am ready to see it in and wave it good bye! I love christmas and we have been creating through crafts, baking and also celebrating with our friends this past weekend.
Saturday saw the 2nd annual “Christmas bonfire and BB-Q”, the first one being a few years ago so I dont know if it counts really as an annual! However, its defineitly going on next year as I am told that this one was a success, even if we were cramped for space a bit and it was a bit cold for some of the guests (wuss). I think next year we will make the fire bigger …
My husband and I started the preparations the night before with cooking a chicken curry, chilli, and home made soup. The next day, i made home made mince pies, a cake and a steak pie adn the husband and child decorated the gazeebo with fairy lights and other christmas decorations. A friend brought along a boiled ham and roast garlic potatoes which were scummy! We also hooked up the projector outside and showed “Elf” on the screen, and all of the children were captivated!
later on in the night, when people were in, we had on “Just Dance” which seemed to be quite entertaining… for some! The kids all played well together, although my daughters room is still needing to be cleaned , ha ha, but I shall get down to that today. its a small price to pay for having your friends all together at Christmas.
So all in all, christmas this year has been pretty good.. Im working nightshift on christmas eve and have the painter coming on that day as well but I think we have done pretty well in being organized and also making sure that we see most of our friends as previous years has seenus missing out a few people.
